Welcome to Carrington's PTA!

We are a non-profit chartered through the North Carolina PTA dedicated to making sure all students at Carrington Middle School have the opportunity to thrive.

This is an amazing school with incredible staff, teachers, students, and families and we are excited about the ways we can work together to make it even stronger!

Help Our "No-Fundraiser" Fundraiser! 

We have kicked off our “No-Fundraiser” Fundraiser. If we raise $15,000 by October 15, 2026 we will not sell a product this year. 

Here are 3 easy ways to help:

1. Donate at this link. Please also share that link with friends and family to donate directly. You can also buy a PTA membership or t-shirt at the same link.

2. Share sponsorship opportunities with a local business. Here is a one-page document that explains the opportunities. Information is also on our website here. 

3. Eat at Chipotle on Guess Road on September 21st from 4-8 pm. The restaurant will donate 25% of sales to Carrington PTA during that time frame. In future weeks, we will share a flyer you need to show at the restaurant. You can also order online for pickup during that time period using the code P7AVDJ7.

Money will go to the following: 

• Teacher Grants – Supplies and materials to keep teachers from paying out of pocket.

• Student Needs – Hygiene items, nursing supplies, clothing, and field trip scholarships.

• Student Activities – Reward celebrations and school community events.

• Electives & Athletics – Arts, clubs, and athletic programs.

Here is how you can help:

• Please join Carrington’s PTA online https://glcpta.givebacks.com/ Membership is $10 per person.

• You can also donate to the PTA online or buy a T-shirt at the same link: Givebacks - Support the causes you care about. Please consider donating if you are able.

• Please consider joining a committee. A signup for committees: Committee Sign Up Form. Descriptions are also below. Please know we understand you are all busy and have designed committees to enable volunteers to spend as much (or as little) time as you can realistically give.

PTA goals for the 2026-2027 academic year:

1. Supporting teachers with grants and supplies

   • Our teachers are often paying out of pocket to support students and their classrooms. Our goal is to raise money to give each teacher a grant to spend as they need.

   • We will also support teachers through partnering with the non-profit Crayons2Calcutors which donates supplies to teachers. PTA volunteers will “shop” for supplies from teacher wish lists and deliver them to the school.

2. Staff and teacher appreciation events

   • We will organize activities to show appreciation to teachers and staff including during Teacher Appreciation Week.

3. Community support

   • We support student needs such as field trip sponsorship, coat drives, stocking a nursing station and clothing closet, supplies, athletics, arts, celebrations such as honor roll or attendance, etc.

4. Beautification efforts

   • We are organizing three workdays a year for volunteers to help on our grounds, including our athletic fields.

5. Create a sustainable and strong PTA

   • We are creating structures that make it easy to pass along PTA responsibilities year to year. Plus, we’ll make sure we remain compliant with standards that ensure our PTA maintains its non-profit status.

Advocacy and Beautification

• Support the pressing needs of Carrington's students and families and help host three beautification volunteer Saturdays per year.

Audit

• Chair - Leigh Muller

• If you are big brained, as the kids say, help keep the PTA complaint and financially sound.

Fundraising

• Chair - Needed

• Build community partnerships and find funding (money and gift-in- kind opportunities) through efforts like restaurant nights out, applying for grants, and securing sponsorships.

Teacher and staff appreciation

• Chair - Maren Schreiber

• Support the team that hosts lunches, coffee carts, and other ways to show appreciation for Carrington's teachers and staff.
